A heart-wrenching incident took place in Patna City, where a young man committed suicide by hanging himself. The young man, named Pradyuman, had been living with his girlfriend, Anjali, in a live-in relationship for some time. This incident shocked everyone, especially because when the landlord rented them the house, they had introduced themselves as brother and sister.

What's the Full Story?

The incident occurred in the Gandhi Nagar area under Agamkuan police station in Patna City. Police found Pradyuman's body hanging from the ceiling fan in his room. Local residents informed the police, who arrived at the scene and took possession of the body, sending it for a post-mortem to Nalanda Medical College Hospital. During questioning, girlfriend Anjali told the police that Pradyuman had been indulging in excessive drug use in recent days. She had repeatedly tried to stop him from using drugs, but his addiction had worsened, leading to frequent arguments between them. Anjali also revealed that they were planning to get married soon, but the ongoing fights over drug use had strained their relationship.

How Did This Tragic Event Happen?

Anjali explained that on the 23rd, another argument erupted between them over his drug use. After the fight, Pradyuman angrily locked himself in his room. Anjali called him several times, but when he didn't respond, she peeked through the window and saw Pradyuman hanging from the ceiling fan. She immediately called for help from the neighbors, who broke the door and brought Pradyuman down, but by then, it was too late-Pradyuman had already passed away.

Did Drugs Cause His Death?

Anjali informed the police that Pradyuman was not addicted to alcohol but another kind of drug. This addiction was the main reason for their constant fights. However, during the police investigation, no drugs or related items were found in his room. This raised suspicions that there might be another reason behind Pradyuman's suicide. The police are now waiting for the post-mortem report to find out the true cause of the incident.

What Did the Landlord Say?

The landlord, Umesh Pandit, revealed that Pradyuman and Anjali had come to him on August 10, 2024, and rented a room, introducing themselves as brother and sister. The landlord even spoke to Pradyuman's father over the phone, which convinced him of their relationship. But now, after the incident, he learned that they were actually lovers and not siblings, and they weren't married. The landlord expressed his regret over this situation and stated that he would conduct thorough checks before renting out rooms in the future.

Slap Incident After a Fight

Some locals have also shared crucial details about the events leading up to the incident. A shopkeeper mentioned that Pradyuman was a quiet person and used to buy goods from his shop regularly. However, his girlfriend, Anjali, had a more aggressive nature. An eyewitness reported that on the 23rd, a day before the incident, Pradyuman and Anjali were fighting on the street. During the argument, Anjali slapped Pradyuman. After this, Pradyuman called someone to report the incident, but Anjali snatched his phone away. Pradyuman then went back to his room and hanged himself.

Police Are Investigating Every Angle

SI Ramayan Ram, who is investigating the case, stated that the couple was originally from Bhagalpur and had been living in Patna since February. Their investigation has revealed that drug use was a significant cause of their fights. Once the post-mortem report is available, further action will be taken. Agamkuan Station House Officer Santosh Kumar Singh mentioned that no drugs or objectionable items were found in Pradyuman's room, so the post-mortem report may reveal the full details of the case.
